Interactive, digital and games based activities

Join us at Minerals Matter where your students will discover what is special and unique about minerals, how we can mine for them, transport them, work safely with them and use them. Students will also hear the inspirational personal stories of people working in all of these areas to bring them to life.

Your students will have the chance to get hands on and find out more through our range of exciting activities. On the ‘Mineral Mission’ activity students help to find the missing mineral via a series of clues and challenges. ‘Curious Concrete’ is an opportunity for students to learn about different minerals used in the production of concrete. ‘Digging and Driving’ is a simulated experience for students to use an excavator on a quarry site and load a tipper truck.  ‘Immersive quarry’ is a VR headset experience where young people can be transported to a working quarry environment. Then, finally, ‘Workwear Ready’ gives students the opportunity to try on a range of protective clothing, essential for safe working on site.
