Dates and theme booked for the Big Bang Digital

Having rocked lockdown 2020, Big Bang Digital will be back for a second exciting year, upscaling from its original day long format into 3 brilliant days of fun interactive sessions. It’s aimed at 11 to 14 year olds and will be taking place Wednesday 23 June to Friday 25 June 2021.

Building on what we did last year, watched live by almost 28,000 viewers, the Big Bang Digital 2021 looks to the future by dealing with the theme of building a better, greener world through STEM. And because it’s over 3 days there’s a broader range of interactive sessions over a longer period which means students will have a better opportunity to dip in and out of the event.

Looking at the environment, medicine, food production, energy, infrastructure, and loads more, the interactive sessions will be a mixture of live and pre-recorded presentations opening the eyes of students to what they could be doing as a job in the future. Exploring how these exciting careers will be changing the world for the better will be part and parcel of the sessions, as we hear from the people working in these areas right now.

We’re incredibly excited to be working with friends and sponsors of the Big Bang new and old, all from across the engineering world and all taking a look at what they are doing on a day-to-day basis to make planet earth a better place in the future -  a future that will be in the hands of the brilliant young people who are studying the subjects right now.

At the end of last year’s event 80% of the young people watching said they’d now consider a future career in science, technology or engineering - a brilliant example of how inspiring these sessions will be. You won’t want to miss it.

More specifics on who will be presenting sessions of the Big Bang Digital 2021, and how schools and students can join in, will be announced soon. Teachers can keep posted by signing up to the Big Bang Schools Newsletter for more news as it is announced.
